Felting project:



Research Felting:

1. Find a video that demonstrates dry felting and paste the link into a slide on your art ideas slide show. If you don't have one please make one to house your resources.
(DO NOT USE YOUR PORTFOLIO SLIDE SHOW, please.)

2. Find 5 needle felted (or dry felted) landscapes and paste them into a slide on your art ideas slide show

3.  Find photographs of 3-5 landscapes with at least 3 hills in each and paste them into your slide show (real photos not artworks that are felting.)

4. Find a link that explains the history of felting and paste it into your slide show. Along with it, in another text box in the same slide write a couple of sentences explaining what you learned.

5. Find 3 artists that do either wet felting or dry felting and paste their links into your slide show. (Look up "non-objective fabric artists", "abstract felt artists", "landscape felt artists", "nuno felt artists, "or "contemporary felt artist")


Next step:


1.   Find at least one PHOTOGRAPH to work from and copy the image and keep  it in your art ideas slide show
(NOT your portfolio slide show , please.)

2.   After deciding on your sketch check it in with Mrs. Dennis and she'll give you felt.  You'll then use chalk to roughly sketch out your design.

 Your design must  :
*     Be drawn by looking at at least one PHOTOGRAPH of a landscape , however you can use multiple resources

*    Have colors that repeat to create a rhythm that moves the viewer's eye through the work

*     Have overlapping of shape

*     Have a balanced composition

*     Reflect intentional placement of objects to hold the interest of the  viewer
 
* Have objects in the foreground.  Have landscape items such as trees, hills, water ect. in the middle ground and have a background including sky.


            Work on your felting. Make sure you keep checking the rubric.
 
When you finish or need a break you can go to the quilling page to do some work on that project, however be aware that the felting project will be due
