Tar Paper Container

Step #1: Look at                            and then:

Find the shape and size of the sides of your vases. (You'll need three tar paper pieces the exact same size and shape.)

Step #2: Watch

Step#3: In the tar paper box find 3 tar paper templates that are the same. (Located under the whiteboard).

Step #4: Using the thicker sticks and a rolling pin (stored under the first sink) create 3 slabs that are attached to your tar paper pieces.  Review                              as many times as necessary to see how they should be attached  to the tar paper templates.

 Step #5: Store your slabs on a Styrofoam form on the clay cart. Make sure you have a name tag on tape along with them with your class code included. Watch                     before next class period.

Step #6: Get with Mrs. Dennis and tell her you are getting ready to use "Bert". Use the wooden cutter with attached wires (called "Bert") to cut a 45 degree angle on all the sides of your slabs EXCEPT the top and bottom.

Step#7:  Review                                 then get with Mrs. D for help attaching your edges then watch                           before next class period.

Step #8: Using the thicker sticks and a rolling pin create a slab to be attached onto the bottom of your vase.

Step #9: Attach the bottom of your vase buy scoring the bottom of the slabs and the slab where the edges will meet.

Step #10: Watch            and         before the next class period.

Step #11: Check your project with Mrs. Dennis then proceed with the plan you make with her.

Step: #12 : Check the ceramic rubric to make sure you have addressed all areas.
