Step# 5: Find a subject to draw and sketch

 * You can do this by just looking at objects using your chromebook

Search "steampunk objects" or any of the following:

Pipes   Clocks     Gears    Top Hats     Aviator hats and Glasses   Mechanical

things     bolts    wingnut    bicycle chain    locks    keys    canes    goggles

wings (leather)   blimps  flying wings and crafts    Leonardo DaVinci  sketches  steam stoves  steam   conveyor belts  pulleys   temperature measurement   tools     compass   pressure gauge  typewriter  hour glass

simple machines  gas masks  helmets  plague masks  long trench coats zippers  boots with buckles  buckles   science experiment equipment beakers and test tubes

Any images you like copy and paste them into your art ideas slide show then draw from them.

Step # 6:   Either use your tube tutorials or simply sketch from images for this next step:  Create drawings of 3 objects that could reflect a steampunk vibe.  These completed drawings will be the first part of your steampunk grade.

Step # 7-  WATCH THIS!:

After you have decided which object or objects will be the emphasis or center of attention for your design you will trace it (lightly using a pencil) onto the nice drawing paper.  This will be tagged "final paper for steampunk zentangle" on the tall bookcase.  You can use either a light table or a window to make it easier.

Step # 8-Watch the rest of these videos during task, at home or during a small amount of free time at the end of class. Make sure you watch them BEFORE starting step #9.

Step # 9- Begin to choose and add objects and zentangle that you think are interesting.  Use:

to find some ways to design zentangles outward.

Beware of placement of details !!!! You will be graded on your ability to make a composition that keeps the viewer's eyes on the paper!
