“You'll need dark instant coffee, paint brushes, and painting paper that can hold watercolor for this project. Black watercolor is helpful but not mandatory.

Step # 1: Thinking about coffee painting

Step # 2"Select a subject."  Click on the coffee cup for your grade.

Step # 3"Sketch your subject" You can...

A. Choose your own and sketch it out lightly on painting paper (Remember it must have a foreground, middle ground, and background.)

B. Sketch along with me to do the landscape by clicking on this tutorial link for your grade.

Step # 4: "Creating a coffee value scale" Find out what foreground, middle ground, and background are then click on the value scale tutorial for your grade.

Step # 5: Watch this video; try it out on your value scale paper, off to the side, to see if you'd like to try to use salt for texture on your final painting.

Step #6: Begin to paint: Follow the steps of this tutorial to put in your coffee values:

 

 

 

 

 

Step #7: "Blending out edges" : Follow the steps of this video to emphasize and blend out edges.

 

 

 

Step #8: "Final Coffee Painting Instructions" Click on your grade level image to complete your painting

Step #9: Photograph and attach your work to google classroom in the "Coffee Painting" assignment.

Please remember the following:

*      Your painting must have at least one place that is dark brown that almost looks black.

* You should have a foreground, middle ground, and background.

*      Your photograph should be upright and nicely cropped when you attach it.  Make sure it's in focus.

Step#10:

*    Check your edpuzzles to make sure you have completed them all.

*   Check for resets.

*   When you are finished screenshot  your empty "Due assignments" in your edpuzzle class

*  Finally, attach the screenshot to your "All Edpuzzle Completion" assignment.

​

Artsonia- I'll be sending an artsonia email to anyone who has not had art before this semester.  Please grant permission via email so that I can put photos of your art in your online portfolio. Include your parents in this process.
