Winners of the Peace Poster contest: "Our World, Our Future"

Students age 11-13 were permitted to enter work to compete in The Lions International Peace Contest with the theme of "Our World, Our Future" this month.  Students spent several sessions after school in studio to create some amazing entries.  Each and every entry was a fantastic example of creativity and craftsmanship.  After a difficult deliberation, judges from the Lion's Club chose the following placement of the top four entries.  The top entry will go on to compete at the district level.

1st Place: Julie Adam, a LVMS 6th grader with a promising future as an artist.  Julie created her theme based around the importance of technology driven by young people.  Her media of choice were ink, watercolor, and acrylic paint.

2nd Place : Ashton Debovoise, a LVMS 6th grader who has always shined as an artist built her concept around teamwork and hitting a homerun with the future.  Her media of choice was ink, marker, and chalk pastel.

3rd Place :  Rachel Guilliams, a 6th grade gifted artist and writer, dove into color for her depiction of the world in the hands of young people.  She used ink and watercolor to show the energy that tomorrow’s leaders will bring into the future.

4th Place : 6th grader Taylor Limbaugh used acrylic paint to portray the world's bright future through the eyes of youth who were driven to succeed.  Taylor is a naturally gifted artist who has already developed an impressive art portfolio of work.
